Statements of Intent

The Australian Volunteers Program is committed to diversity and inclusion. Our Statements of Intent explain our vision and priorities, and what we aim to achieve through our commitment to gender equality, disability inclusion and LGBTIQ+ inclusion.

Australian Volunteers Program is committed to diversity and inclusion

The Australian Volunteers Program is committed to diversity and inclusion. As part of this commitment, we've developed the following Statements of Intent that outline our vision for:

  • fostering a safe and equitable environment for people with diverse sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and sex characteristics (SOGIESC)
  • ensuring gender equality and women's empowerment across the program
  • valuing and promoting full participation of people with disabilities as volunteers, staff and partners

These Statements of Intent are supported by a broader program of activities that are intended to produce real and tangible results. We encourage our partners, and future and current volunteers, and staff to read these statements and help us to continue to improve our program into the future.
